Our Practice in Edmonton

Dr. Kelly Tran was born in Vietnam and has lived in Edmonton for most of her life. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alberta. From there, Dr. Tran attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, completing her Doctor of Optometry in 2008. She completed her clinical training at the Eye Institute of Philadelphia, with a focus on pediatrics, and at the New Jersey VA Hospital.

Dr. Tran co-founded Precision Eye Care in 2010 to provide her patients a completely personal eye care experience. She has worked hard to incorporate clinical technology to best care for her patient’s eyes. For the past decade, Dr. Tran has enjoyed meeting new patients and watching families grow year after year.

When Dr. Tran isn’t helping patients, she enjoys travelling and cooking meals for family and friends. She has settled into the beautiful community of Summerside and enjoys the busy life of raising her 2 daughters and son with her husband, Kevin.

Dr. Monique Nguyen is an associate optometrist with a genuine passion for providing exceptional patient care. Her approach to optometry is thorough, informative, and backed by years of experience that radiates reassurance.

Earning her stripes with an undergraduate degree from the University of Alberta and sealing her expertise with a Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry, Dr. Monique’s journey has been one of dedication and continuous learning. Dr. Monique’s professional path has taken her all around North America. She has diverse externship experiences across Alaska, Edmonton, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, all under the umbrella of the Alberta Association of Optometry. 

Dr. Monique has a keen focus on dry eye and myopia management to help patients enjoy clear, healthy vision. What truly sets her soul on fire are the personal connections she forges with each patient and the teamwork she cultivates within our office. 

In her daily practice, Dr. Monique finds fulfillment in the shared moments of understanding with her patients, the direct impact she makes on their eye health concerns, and the confidence she instills through patient education.

Outside work, Dr. Monique enjoys spending quality time with her beloved dog and going heavy on screen time, proudly embracing her status as a certified iPad aficionado. Rest assured, your screen habits don’t faze her—she’s pretty sure her screen time trumps them all.

Mandy has been the receptionist and optometric assistant here at Precision Eye Care for the past 8 years, with over 10 years of experience in the customer service industry. She loves meeting new people and spending quality time with family and friends. In her downtime, Mandy loves looking up new food recipes to try, playing video games with her fiancé, and travelling.

This is how Alex feels when she assists her patients. Alex has been in the industry for many years, starting as a lab technician, then a dispenser, and then becoming a licensed optician; these were all opportunities full of growth. Alex loves to focus on how her passion for what she does can make a difference to her patients, her co-workers, our doctors, and our company.

Seeing people smile from when they come into the clinic and try on some frames to when they pick up their eyewear makes her happy.

Marcus is our dedicated licensed optician and embodies the values of personalized service and patient empowerment. With over 4 years of experience in the optical field, Marcus blends expertise with a caring approach to help provide a high level of care for his patients. 

Marcus graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2023 with an Optical Sciences Eyeglasses Diploma. He brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of his craft to every interaction.

Beyond his professional life, Marcus finds joy in helping people see clearly, whether fitting a child with their first pair of glasses or guiding an adult toward improved vision. His passion for bridging fashion and medical devices shines through in every aspect of his work.

Outside work, Marcus dives into his photography business, takes to the football field with the Edmonton Elite team, and unwinds by playing video games with his girlfriend and spending quality time with his beloved puppy, Indy.
